What is SLAB?

SLAB, the Student Library Advisory Board, is a new opportunity at SM North for any interested student. It will meet in The Library once a month after school. Anyone with an interest in library, books and all things reading are invited to become a SLAB member. SLAB works to gain insight and knowledge about books and libraries through book clubs, online book reviews, discussions, and charity events.

Students will have an opportunity to help choose some of the books The Library will buy as well as help raise funds to buy those books. Other special events in The Library that you can be a part of include Banned Book Week, Poetry Slam and a College Readiness Clinic. Students may also occasionally come in during seminar and work on library projects.
